Apni Chhat Apna Ghar
Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme to help lakhs of homeless people. Under this scheme, he has announced the construction of one lakh houses, from which one lakh forced and homeless families of Punjab will be able to benefit.
While presiding over the meeting, Maryam Nawaz said that many such poor and deserving people are part of our country who have lost their houses due to natural calamities such as floods or earthquakes and cannot rebuild their houses due to lack of resources.
Many people have no place to live, are forced to live in rented houses all their lives, and always dream of building their own houses. The Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme has been launched to fulfil the dream of these people to own their own homes.
Under this scheme, houses will be provided to people in short-term easy instalments. Maryam Nawaz said these houses will built near the urban population to make all the facilities available.
Apna Chhat Apna Ghar scheme will provide houses to poor sections, and homeless people.

Model Houses
Maryam Nawaz directed the authorities to ensure the construction of 3000 model houses in all the tehsils of Punjab within 6 weeks. He said that the down payment and monthly instalments of model houses should kept to a minimum so that people do not have to face any problems in getting their own house. The Chief Minister while instructing the authorities further said that they should give priority to quality materials and sustainability in the construction of model houses.

Who is Eligible for Apni Chhat Apna Ghar
People wishing to get a house under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme must fulfil the following criteria. In case of not fulfilling the eligibility criteria, it is not possible to benefit from this scheme.
- Applicants who wish to get a house under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” scheme must have a valid National Identity Card.
- This scheme is launched only for the residents of Punjab, so the current address on the applicant’s identity card must be relevant to any city in Punjab.
- The monthly income of the applicant must be 50 thousand or less, if it is more than this, he will not be able to benefit from the scheme.
- No house or plot should registered in the name of the applicant.
- The age of the applicant must be 55 years or less.
- The applicant should not have acquired the plot covered by any aid scheme before this scheme.

The Chief Minister of Punjab said during his address that we have promised to provide our homes to the deserving and homeless people and we will fulfil our promise. Under this scheme, those people who are deprived of the basic right to build their own house due to lack of resources will benefit. The Chief Minister said that under this scheme, the monthly instalments will kept to a minimum so that poor people will not burdened to pay the instalments.
